What family therapy is
Family therapy looks at the relationships between people, not just one person's struggles. Instead of asking who is to blame, it asks what pattern the family is caught in and how everyone can help change it.
Ramin is a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT). Family systems work is at the core of his training, and he has worked with adolescents and their families for many years.
What we work on
Skills for the whole family
Each person feels heard before anyone tries to solve anything.
Clear expectations everyone helped create.
Ways to pause, cool down, and come back to the conversation.
Small, consistent steps that rebuild closeness.
Every family has patterns. The good news is that patterns can change.
Parents and teens
Adolescence is hard on everyone. Teens want independence; parents want them safe. Therapy gives both sides a place to be heard, set fair expectations, and rebuild trust.
Some sessions may include the whole family, and some may be with parents or the teen alone, depending on what helps most.
Adult families and blended families
Family tension does not end at 18. Adult siblings, adult children and parents, and stepfamilies often carry old patterns into new situations. Therapy helps everyone talk about what matters without reopening every old wound.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Still wondering about something? Ask during your free consultation.
Does the whole family need to attend?
Not always. Some sessions include everyone, and others include only parents or one family member. Ramin helps decide what will help most.
Do you see teenagers?
Ramin has many years of experience with adolescents and families. Ask during the consultation about sessions that include your teen.
Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?
For many concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship issues, research has found video therapy to be comparable to in-person sessions. Many clients also find it easier to stay consistent when there is no commute.
Do you take insurance?
Sessions are private pay (out of network). During your free consultation you can ask about using out-of-network benefits with your insurance plan.
How much does therapy cost?
Individual sessions are $250 and couples sessions are $500. The first consultation is free. Sessions are private pay, and Ramin is an out-of-network provider.
Who can you see?
Because Ramin is licensed in California, he can see clients who are located in California at the time of the session, anywhere in the state, from San Diego to the Bay Area.
