FAQ
Questions, answered
Still wondering about something? Ask during your free consultation.
Do I really need therapy?
Many people wait until things feel serious. A useful question: are there more sad or stressful days than good ones lately? If so, it is worth understanding why. Therapy is not about a label. Many people come for a few months, feel better, and move on.
Is therapy online?
Yes. All sessions are virtual, so you can join from home, your office, or anywhere private in California. Couples can join together or from two locations.
What is the free consultation?
A short conversation with Ramin, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, to talk about what is bringing you in, ask questions, and decide together whether to start.
What is the difference between therapy and counseling?
People use the words interchangeably. Both mean working with a licensed professional to understand what is going on and make changes. Sessions are usually weekly and last 50 minutes.
What is your approach?
Mostly humanistic and client-centered, drawing on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic work as needed, with warmth and humor.
Do you take insurance?
Sessions are private pay (out of network). During your free consultation you can ask about using out-of-network benefits with your insurance plan.
How much does therapy cost?
Individual sessions are $250 and couples sessions are $500. The first consultation is free. Sessions are private pay, and Ramin is an out-of-network provider.
Who can you see?
Because Ramin is licensed in California, he can see clients who are located in California at the time of the session, anywhere in the state, from San Diego to the Bay Area.
